Back2Basics

Back2Basics is a distinctive 6-month outdoor adventure recovery program located in the scenic mountains of Flagstaff, Arizona, tailored for young men aged 18-30 struggling with addiction. The program harnesses the therapeutic power of nature, where minds are cleared and bodies are physically challenged. Clients engage in wilderness adventures 3-4 times per week, experiencing activities like mountain biking, snowboarding, rock climbing, and river rafting, fostering resilience and self-discovery.

This unique approach combines adventure therapy with robust clinical support, including 12-Step facilitation. Clients participate in 12-Step meetings, individual counseling, and group therapy. The curriculum also integrates essential life skills courses, recreational activities, and nutritional/culinary classes, ensuring a holistic path to recovery. A typical day begins with morning meditation, followed by physical fitness at a local gym, hot yoga, and concludes with a 12-Step meeting, promoting a balanced and structured routine.

The Flagstaff setting offers comfortable accommodations in a laid-back environment, conducive to healing and personal growth. Residents also receive a local gym membership, providing access to diverse fitness options, including hot yoga and Tai Chi classes. Back2Basics is dedicated to providing comprehensive treatment that equips young men with the tools and experiences necessary for sustained long-term recovery and overall well-being.

Therapies include 1-on-1 Counseling, Mindfulness Therapy, Adventure Therapy, Art Therapy, Life Skills, Psychoeducation, Tai Chi, Twelve Step Facilitation, and Yoga, addressing alcohol, co-occurring disorders, and drug addiction specializations. Access to Nature and a Fitness Center are key amenities.
