Humboldt Recovery Centers – 11th Street

Humboldt Recovery Centers, serving California’s North Coast since 1972, stands as a leading and enduring residential program dedicated to fostering drug-free lives. Operating across seven home-like, gender-separated locations in Eureka, California, the center employs a specialized Therapeutic Community approach, providing highly structured, evidence-based care for Drug Addiction. Each facility is licensed and certified by the Department of Health Care Services.

The core of Humboldt's program is its "Therapeutic Community" environment, offering neat, clean, and fully furnished residences in safe neighborhoods. Clients benefit from private or shared bedrooms, essential amenities like showers, cable TV in shared living areas, and access to computers for job or education-related tasks. This supportive environment promotes a sense of belonging and collective responsibility, crucial for sustained recovery.

Humboldt Recovery Centers implements a dynamic "Phase Recovery Program," designed for gradual progression over 90 days, granting increasing freedom and responsibility. This residential care is seamlessly followed by nine months of comprehensive outpatient treatment, totaling a year-long program. The "Comprehensive Program" integrates support for Family Therapy, parenting skills, vocational and educational assistance, medical care, co-occurring mental health concerns, and housing/transport challenges. Therapies include 1-on-1 Counseling and Life Skills.

Additionally, the center emphasizes Nutrition Counseling and Recreation Therapy, providing on-site fitness rooms and healthy meals. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with non-narcotic medications is available, and family reintegration is encouraged. Post-residential care, clients transition into a robust "Aftercare" program through an alumni association, offering ongoing counseling and sober activities, reinforcing a lasting commitment to recovery. Yoga is also integrated into their holistic approach.
