UCSD Eating Disorders Center

The UCSD Eating Disorders Center, a non-profit, university-based center, is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by eating disorders. Located in Suite 315, California, it provides research-driven, evidence-based treatment for conditions including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. Our comprehensive approach spans various levels of care, from outpatient and partial hospitalization (PHP) to inpatient services, ensuring support at every stage of recovery for both adolescents and adults.

We utilize a diverse array of cutting-edge, evidence-based therapies to empower patients in their healing journey. Key modalities include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Specialized treatments like Radical Openness DBT (RO-DBT) are also offered, particularly beneficial for those with anorexia nervosa and challenges in emotional regulation. These therapies are meticulously applied to help patients manage emotions, modify behaviors, and develop sustainable coping skills.

The center provides flexible and supportive living arrangements, including supportive housing for adults enrolled in our Partial Hospitalization Programs. This unique offering allows patients to receive intensive treatment while maintaining real-life skills and fostering a smoother transition back into daily life, minimizing the risk of relapse. Family therapy is an integral component, reinforcing the importance of a supportive home environment. Our specializations include eating disorders, co-occurring disorders, trauma, and PTSD, ensuring holistic care tailored to complex needs.
