The IAFF Center of Excellence, situated on a serene 15-acre campus in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, is a premier behavioral health treatment and recovery center exclusively dedicated to professional fire service members. Specializing in trauma, particularly PTSD, and co-occurring disorders like alcohol addiction, the center provides evidence-based, multidisciplinary care. Their holistic approach treats the individual as a whole, addressing not only addiction but also underlying mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. This Joint Commission accredited facility offers a comprehensive continuum of care, including clinically managed detox, inpatient residential, PHP, IOP, teletherapy, and robust aftercare planning. A wide array of therapeutic modalities are employed, including 1-on-1 Counseling, Art Therapy, Equine Therapy, Experiential Therapy, EMDR, and Family Therapy.
