The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations

The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations, located in Spokane Valley, Washington, is an Indigenous-focused inpatient facility dedicated to adolescents aged 13-17 struggling with substance use disorders. With over three decades of expertise, the lodge holds CARF and Joint Commission accreditations, demonstrating its commitment to high-quality care delivered with profound cultural understanding and generosity. Programs typically span 90-120 days, adapted to individual adolescent needs.

The continuum of care at The Healing Lodge thoughtfully integrates evidence-based clinical treatments, including mental health and substance use counseling, with easily accessible medical services. Support service programs such as education, music, culture, recreation, and nutrition foster creativity and personal growth. A fundamental aspect of their approach is trauma-informed care, essential for protecting the cultural and personal identities of Native adolescents while acknowledging and addressing generational and intergenerational trauma.

Set on a sprawling 51-acre campus, the facility offers a serene environment with 45 beds in gender-specific wings. Beyond contemporary amenities like a basketball court and obstacle course, the campus deeply embeds traditional Indigenous elements such as tipis, sweat lodges, and a Medicine Wheel, creating a culturally rich healing space that connects adolescents with their heritage and themselves.
