The Wellness Shack

The Wellness Shack, located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is a unique peer-run mental health recovery center dedicated to empowering adults living with severe or persistent mental health disorders and/or substance use disorder. Our mission centers on building an inclusive, safe, and respectful community of recovery and hope. We achieve this by offering a diverse range of peer-led support groups addressing conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and dual diagnoses related to alcohol and drug use. What sets The Wellness Shack apart is its deeply embedded peer-run model. Managed and operated by individuals with lived experience in mental health recovery, we provide an unparalleled environment of empathy and understanding. Alongside support groups, we offer one-on-one sessions with Certified Peer Support Specialists, educational resources, advocacy, and engaging social activities, all designed to foster wellness, stability, and a fulfilling life. We prioritize creating a sanctuary environment – a space ensuring physical and psychological safety, acceptance, and freedom from stigma. By focusing on shared experiences and peer support, The Wellness Shack empowers individuals to actively manage their mental health challenges, develop effective coping skills, and progress confidently on their recovery journey.
